April-June R.E.P.O.R.T: Life Lately

Somehow we blinked and it’s already the end of June, Spring is over & it’s now officially Summer, so I thought I’d put together my R.E.P.O.R.T – a little quarterly check-in where I round up what I’ve been loving over the past few months. With that being said, here’s what’s been filling my time (and my basket) from April to June. Pop the kettle on and have a nosey.

Reading: A Court of Thorns & Roses/A Court of Mist & Fury

It took me a little while to get into A Court of Thorns and Roses, if I’m honest – I was listening to it as an audiobook, and it took a bit to really grab me. But once it did, I was hooked. I’ve just finished A Court of Mist and Fury, and I absolutely loved it – Rhyssand has firmly earned his place as a top-tier book boyfriend. I definitely enjoyed book two more, and now I can’t wait to get stuck into A Court of Wings and Ruin!

Eating: I Honestly Can’t Even Remember…

…what I’ve been loving eating over the past few months – it’s all been a bit of a blur! What I do know is there’s been plenty of yummy food at the hen do and the weddings I’ve been to, so I’ve definitely not gone hungry. Lots of little treats here and there, which is always the best part of a celebration if you ask me. However, I have discovered a new favourite drink – the humble Pimms (just please hold the mint)!

Playing: Ella Langley & Riley Green

I’ve found myself listening to a lot of Ella Langley and Riley Green over the past few months – both their songs together and their own separate tracks. I’ve always been a bit of a country girl at heart, and their music has really been my go-to lately. There’s just something about their sound that feels so easy and comforting, and they’ve pretty much been the soundtrack to my spring. My favourites are Weren’t For The Wind & Change My Mind.

Obsessing Over: Butter Yellow Beauty Trend!

One trend I couldn’t help but notice (and join in on) this spring was the rise of butter yellow – especially on nails. This soft, creamy pastel has been everywhere the past few months, and for good reason. It’s bright enough to feel cheerful and fresh, but still subtle and chic. I’ve seen it on everything from glossy manis to cute little daisy designs, and it just feels so right for the season. A proper little pick-me-up for your fingertips.

Recommending: Spending Time with Friends & Family <3

The past few months have been really social for me, and it’s been so lovely. Between April and June I feel like I barely sat still – there were birthdays, BBQs, a hen do, a couple of weddings, and plenty of coffee catch ups in between. I’ve spent so much time with friends and family, which has made this little stretch of the year feel really full and happy.

Treating: Letting Go of Perfection & Being in The Moment!

One thing I’ve been really trying to treat myself to lately is letting go of that pressure to be perfect all the time. I’ve been making a conscious effort to lower the bar I set for myself, ease off the high expectations, and just be a bit more present in the moment. Life’s felt so busy these past few months that exercise and routines have definitely slipped, but I’ve tried to prioritise rest where I can and not beat myself up about it. I know I need to find a better balance so I don’t end up overwhelming myself, but for now I’m just giving myself a bit of grace.
